Today is Circus’s birthday. I don’t make posts about albums’ birthdays but this one is special.
Circus was released in 12.02.2008, on Britney’s birthday. And there is no better date than that for this album. And it’s not just an album, it’s way more than that.
Britney has been through a lot of stuff and it was hard to get over that. And one of the things where she found the strength to get out from under was in the work. And what helped her was the recording of this album. She gave her heart and soul to make this work and that’s why it’s so good and has some of her best songs. And I love every single song about it. I love the story behind this album. It was her comeback, even though she doesn’t like that, it was actually a comeback. Not a comeback to the music, but a comeback to her status, to her happiness. A comeback to the best things in the world she deserves. And with this album she proved she’s here forever, no matter what happens and no matter what people try to do to her. She proved she has many sides, and no one can take them away from here. She proved she can actually bring fans after all she’s been through. I actually started listening to her songs with circus, so I can prove that.
And everything about this era has my favorite things. My favorite album, tour, fragrance, look, songs, music videos, everything. Specially the tour. Even with all the critics, the circus tour is the most amazing show I’ve ever seen. It’s not even a concert, it’s a spectacle. Pure entertainment. I can’t even describe cause it’s flawless and I think I don’t need to explain about this tour cause it’s the definition of flawless, and the thing I love the most is her mood in this tour, she was so herself and happy in some concerts and it makes me smile.
And since 2007 she NEVER opened herself that much as she did in For The Record. It’s hard for people to understand that it’s a huge thing for Britney open herself in that way. That’s why they say she didn’t tell enough. And I cry everytime I watch that cause you can feel her and the way she sees the world, trying to make things simple for her, it’s just amazing.
Circus is not only an album, but it’s the confirmation of Britney as a living legend. And all you can do is deal with it.
Happy birthday, Circus <3
